And now for an update...
We are pleased to announce several exciting changes for our 25th Annual
Yadkin Valley Bluegrass Convention scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2010:
An increase in the purse - a total of $3000 is being offered!
We will now give prizes in two Divisions - Junior & Senior - we've dropped the single "Young Talent" category.
We are doing away with the old method of performance scheduling. Competitors will now be required to draw numbers to determine the order of their performance. (Register early and practice in anticipation of drawing a low number!)
Performer Registration opens at 4:00 PM and closes at 6:00 PM. (Drawing for performance times will be held at approximately 6 PM and first performer will be expected on stage by 6:15 PM.)
All qualified performers will be offered a refund immediately following their performance. Bands or Individual performers who fail to report to the stage in time for their performance WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND!
Each year we receive feedback from the musicians and the fans. We consider
all comments and use them towards making our event a better experience for everyone involved. As always we welcome your questions and comments! Please check our Frequently Asked Questions page to see if your questions have already been answered. If you don't find what you're for there please send an EMAIL!

A Note from the Coordinator:
In 2008 we took the bold step of moving our event to an outside venue. We felt that our normal attendance was such that we could finally take advantage of the extra room that the Yadkin County Park offered. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and we were forced to move to our rain location of Forbush High School.
The 2009 convention saw us returning to our roots at the Yadkinville Elementary School. We were pleased to be able to bring it home - even though we did experience some minor problems. We were fortunate to be able to have many volunteers - many of whom had never even been to a fiddlers' convention. Hopefully the experience they gained can be brought back to help us again next year.
A number of bands and performers expressed their approvcal
in the convention's return to the Yadkinville Elementary School,
which has more space for practicing and jamming, even though we experienced some problems with scheduling. These problems, most likely due to the early start time, created huge gaps in the
line-up. This year we will be using a different (and hopefully better) method of scheduling which has been used by many other conventions with much success. This will allow us to start a little later and still
finish up at a reasonable hour.
Mark April 17 on your calendars and please be sure to tell all of your friends and "picking buddies" that the Yadkinville convention is still going strong. The 2010 convention will maark twenty-five consecutive years of fiddling in Yadkinville. Help us to make this the best convention ever!
